Enhancing the use of FirstClass Using FirstClass Application Services
Semantise
FirstClass Application Services (FCAS) are used widely to add functionality to FirstClass and enable users to benefit from using third party database-driven applications within their FirstClass environment. Semantise have been building FCAS applications for schools and colleges in the UK for a number of years. During this presentation they will demonstrate their applications for student assessment and reporting, behavioural monitoring, attendance and student rewards and commendations, enabling schools to meet recent requirements for real-time reporting to parents. Coupled with Semantise's FirstClass Document Engine, these applications provide sophisticated data analyses for tracking students' progress, allowing early interventions and raising schools' and colleges' performance.

FirstClass ED is a product that fully integrates with the FirstClass collaborative server to enable a complete virtual learning environment, providing enhanced functionality and ease-of-use for teachers, students and the community. In this presentation, Scott Welch will provide an update of the most recent version of FirstClass ED and the planned future development.

TechCo Toolkit

The TechCo Toolkit is a new FirstClass utility designed to enable the delegation of certain common administrative tasks to groups of qualified end-users. Specifically, this utility enables these users to create and subscribe other users to collaborative areas and to distribute Mailing Lists. The unique wizard-like interface does not require users to have a detailed understanding of the permission and subscriber forms and makes it possible for collaborative spaces to be created on Administrative rather than end user disk quota.
