A new look
The toolbars for each container and object have been updated to reflect the new look of FirstClass 8.3.
Existing classroom objects have been graphically enhanced.
Classroom management
• Except for My Classes, all references to classes have been changed to classrooms in the FirstClass ED for Teachers area documentation for easier distinction.
• There is no longer a Class Info form. This has been replaced by a Course Information form accessed when you create a new course.
• If given the appropriate permissions, teachers now choose courses from Course Catalog (including Professional Development courses) to copy to My Courses, and then customize their course from there.
• If a course does not exist in Course Catalog and the teacher has the appropriate permissions, s/he can create and develop a new course in My Courses.
• If given the appropriate permissions, teachers can create a new classroom from a course in My Courses.
• Teachers can close classrooms if they are no longer teaching them.
• The teacher's Inbox has been divided into two separate areas: Incoming Messages and Incoming Assignments.
New classroom objects
• A Journal area has been added to the classroom. Students can create private journals or class journals in their My Journals folder.
• A Projects area has been added to the classroom. Teachers can create individual or group areas and add students, then the project container is added to the student's My Projects area.
• Chat room support has been added to the Discussions area.
Enhanced classroom objects
• Teachers can create multiple discussion areas and chat rooms inside the Discussions area of each classroom.
